Jet Li Had Surgery To Remove Benign Tumour At Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital
The 62-year-old action star likened it to his "hardware" breaking down.
Martial arts legend Jet Li recently sparked health concerns when he posted snaps of himself in hospital on Douyin.
The videos showed the 62-year-old lying in a hospital bed at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital and later being wheeled into the operating theatre.
“A few days ago, my hardware broke down, so I sent it back to the manufacturer for repair,” he quipped.
The next day, the actor, who is a Singapore citizen, shared a video documenting his journey from admission to discharge.
Ever the joker, Jet said “life is like acting, time for another ‘scene’” and compared the hospital to a “repair shop”, saying it felt no different from a film set.
He even showed himself in a hospital gown as well as his “sexy beautiful legs”.
After surgery, a wound can be seen on the right side of his neck.
He described the scar as “a super cool big tattoo”, adding that he felt much more energetic.
Though Jet did not mention the nature of his surgery, close friend Hong Kong film producer Tiffany Chen told China Times it was to remove a small benign tumour.
Jet also wasted no time getting back to work. He was seen holding a meeting on a tablet from his hospital bed.
Netizens flooded the comments section with messages of support, urging Jet to rest well and wishing him a speedy recovery.
In 2013, Jet revealed that he was suffering from a myriad of health problems, including hyperthyroidism and a heart condition.
He also had spinal problems from his many years of physically-demanding film work and on-set injuries.
