Jackson Wang, Wang Leehom & Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Among Stars Jay Chou Unfollowed On IG Over The Years

Why would you unfollow someone on Instagram?

It was recently reported that Mandopop King Jay Chou has unfollowed more than 20 celebrities he used to follow since starting his Instagram account in 2017.

The 46-year-old also deleted at least 623 posts over the past eight years.

Among the celebs is Wang Leehom. Jay apparently unfollowed Leehom on the night the latter's cheating scandal broke in December 2021.

Jackson Wang and disgraced former pop idol Kris Wu were also dropped from Jay's following list.

We get why Jay would unfollow Kris, who is now serving a 13 year prison sentence for sexual offences, but what did Jackson do?

Jay has also unfollowed his Now You See Me 2 co-star Mark RuffaloDwayne JohnsonWill SmithNBA superstar LeBron James and Bruno Mars.

Of these stars, only Leehom follows Jay currently.

Jay now follows 135 accounts on IG, including JJ Lin, Tanya Chua, Michelle Yeoh, and '80s action superstar Jean-Claude Van Damme.

The news sparked debate online, with many naturally wondering if Jay fell out with those stars. Some, however, argued that Jay could simply be managing his following list.

“He probably just unfollowed people he’s no longer in contact with,” said one netizen,

“Unfollowing doesn’t necessarily mean falling out,” said another.

It also begs us to ask this question: Just who was so free to trawl through his following like this?

He even dedicated a post to Bruno in 2021. What happened?
This one we get why he unfollowed...
