Jay Chou Postpones Hongkong Concerts Due To Ongoing Protests In The City
He joins the growing list of musical acts who have postponed or cancelled their gigs in Hongkong amid the increasingly violent protests.
Jay Chou was scheduled to perform at Hongkong Disneyland on December 6 to 8 and 13 to 15 as part of his Carnival World Tour. But his fans were left sorely disappointed when the concert’s organiser released a statement on Tuesday (Nov 19), announcing the postponement of the star’s gigs. By then, tickets for all six shows have been snapped up.
Citing the “uncertainties and possible interruption of public transport”, which we assume is caused by the ongoing Hongkong protests, as the main reason, the organiser also stated in their Facebook post that they “apologise for any inconvenience the postponement may have caused”.
