You know what they say: the internet never forgets.
For Jay Chou and Hannah Quinlivan, they were reminded of this when a seemingly innocuous post the latter made on Instagram Stories ended up making headlines. Before you jump into any conclusion, please note that it was nothing scandalous. It was just a picture of a rainbow.

Jay and Patty when they were still an item
But it wasn’t just any rainbow. The photo that Hannah posted last week was identical to the one that Taiwanese host Patty Hou uploaded in July. If it were any other celeb, Hannah might have just been accused of you know, not posting original content. But Patty happens to be Jay’s ex-girlfriend.
For those who aren't in the know, the Mandopop King allegedly two-timed Patty and Jolin Tsai in the 2000s. Patty went on to tie the knot with Citigroup Global Securities vice president Ken Huang in 2011 though she's still pretty much known for her relationship with Jay, whom she once publicly thanked, saying that “everyone remembers [her] because of him”.

And this was Hannah's IG story
We know what you're thinking. It's the same picture right?
We're not sure what went down here — maybe both women used a stock photo? — but Hannah has since been called a “thief” by netizens, who accused her of stealing Patty's photo and, um, man aka Jay.
Yes, ridiculous, we know.

Jay doesn't hold back
After a day of silence, Hannah and Jay decided to address the situation on their respective IG accounts. Hannah started the ball rolling with: “This is a photo that the construction company sent us. We were at One Park Taipei when they told us that there was a rainbow behind us. I found the photo pretty, so I posted it. I didn’t think too much into it (…) Thankfully, it wasn't Jay Chou who posted [the photo], that would have been bigger news.”
Jay reposted her IG Story and added a few choice comments of his own. “Haha, this is actually a pretty idiotic piece of news,” he wrote. “[Hannah] found the photo that the construction company sent to us pretty, so she decided to post it. Who would be stupid enough to post the exact same photo? But honestly, I feel like posting it too.”
