Japanese actress Yoshiko Ohta, who provided the voices for characters in many of Japan’s most beloved animated works, has passed away at the age of 89.

The news was confirmed after her agency Theater Echo issued an obituary on Monday (Nov 8) stating that she had died of heart failure at a hospital in the Kanagawa prefecture on October 29.
