On Dec 25, Jacky Wu’s son Rick Wu, 23, was arrested on suspicions of abusing marijuana outside a club in the Xinyi district.

According to reports, Taiwanese police smelled marijuana on the 23-year-old musician, and found a “suspicious cigarette” on him.

He was then taken to the Taipei District Prosecutors’ Office, but was released on the afternoon of Dec 26 after posting a NT$100K (S$4.9K) bail.

After news of Rick’s arrest was made public, Jacky wrote this message on Facebook: “The fault of not educating children lies with the father. Bringing up your kids well and educating them is the responsibility of parents. [Not abusing drugs] is not only part of the law, but the most basic of moral standards one should have. I implore the judge to impose a heavy sentence [on Rick]. The most unforgivable mistake is stupidity. I’m ashamed as a father! And I can’t shirk blame!”
