Jacky Wu and daughter pull strong ratings in talk show debut

Taiwanese actor and entertainer Jacky Wu, 53, and his daughter and co-host Sandy pulled in the best ratings for the timeslot on Tuesday night with the first episode of Super Followers, their new variety show that replaced the long-running Here Comes Kangxi.

Super Followers’ debut earned a rating of 0.97, or 200,000 viewers per minute.

Jacky revealed that when the broadcast began, one commercial break dragged on for five minutes. He said it was an issue to be handled by the Chung T'ien Television network, which broadcasts Super Followers, but he would also reflect on it.

Chung T'ien Television attributed the long commercial break to a transmission error and said they would look into it.

Asked about his daughter’s performance as his co-host, Jacky said, “She has outstanding qualifications and abilities, and she’s from a good family. She needs to work on communicating with her mother better, though. Her mother still dislikes the arts, so we hope she’ll go to church every day.”
