Jacky Cheung Offers Fans “Generous” Refund For Travel & Accommodation Expenses After Postponing Shanghai Concerts
The Heavenly King had to reschedule three shows last weekend because he came down with Covid.
Guess Heavenly King Jacky Cheung isn’t immune to Covid-19 after all.
Last week, the 62-year-old sparked concerns for his health after he cancelled three of his 60+ Concert Tour shows in Shanghai due to health reasons.
The shows were supposed to be held on March 8, 9 and 10 at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center.
It was later revealed that the Hong Kong star had come down with Covid and is currently self-isolating at home.
He is set to resume his Shanghai concert on Mar 15.
However, given how notoriously difficult it is to score tickets to Jacky's concert, many fans have called on organisers to postpone the shows rather than cancel them.
Well, ask and you shall receive.
On Sunday (Mar 10), concert producer CMC Live issued a statement on Weibo, announcing that the shows would be postponed to a later date this year.
Fans also have the option of getting a refund for their tickets, as well as compensation for travel and accommodation expenses incurred up to the limits set by concert organisers.
Concertgoers can get a full reimbursement for train tickets, and up to 2,000 yuan (S$370) for domestic flights per person for each way. For international flights, they can claim up to 5,000 yuan (S$950) for each way.
As for accommodation, each person will be reimbursed up to 800 yuan (S$152) per room per night.
The reimbursement policy has earned praise from netizens, who called it comprehensive and generous.
“The reimbursement amount is more than twice the limit for my business trip,” declared one fan.
Netizens also commended Jacky for "maintaining top-notch standards in his personal and professional life" and called him a “god-level role model in the industry”.
“This is what a God of Song should be – possessing both talent and responsibility,” wrote one fan.
