Jackie Chan Reportedly Files Lawsuit To Prove Ownership Of His Beijing Apartments That Were Seized For Auction
The whole issue stems from an agreement he had made with the real estate developer 14 years ago.
Remember the recent news about Jackie Chan’s luxurious Beijing apartments being put up for auction due to a legal dispute between two real estate developers? Well, it looks like things could get even messier as the action superstar himself has reportedly filed a lawsuit to prove that the properties rightfully belong to him.
The whole issue stems from an agreement Jackie had made with one of the real estate companies 14 years ago. As their celebrity ambassador, he paid just 13mil yuan (S$2.6mil) for two apartment units worth 33.6mil yuan (S$6.7mil) in Beijing’s Dongcheng District after offsetting the remaining cost with his endorsement fee, which was 20.6mil yuan (S$4.1mil).
