Jackie Chan refutes rumour that he advised Fan Bingbing to seek refuge in US
Actress Fan Bingbing is currently in the US, seeking political refuge, according to latest news reports

The actress, who has been under house arrest for the past two months, was released although her manager is still under detention.
Two days later, China media reported that the actress has fled the country and sought refuge in America. She has reportedly joined her fiancé Li Chen in the US, and the couple are still together despite earlier reports of a split.
Bingbing was reportedly sighted at Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday morning by a Twitter user (@yinke_usa), applying for asylum at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection office. Another unverified user shared that Bingbing is indeed currently in America, but said that she was not there as a political refugee.
According to Chinese media, Bingbing decided to seek refuge in the US at the advice of Hong Kong actor and director Jackie Chan, after clearing her outstanding tax debt of RMB 90 million (approximately S$18 million).
However, this piece of news was refuted by Jackie’s management who said that it was “nonsense!”
Previous news reports stated that Bingbing is slated to make her first public appearance on Sep 16 to address her tax evasion scandal, but no confirmation has been made on her agency’s part.
The actress was implicated after Chinese host Cui Yongyuan revealed that she had signed dual separate “yin and yang” contracts for Hollywood film, Cell Phone 2, which allowed her to hide her income and evade China’s strict regulations on actors’ salaries.
