Jackie Chan Spotted With Formerly Estranged Son Jaycee Chan In Guangdong Before 72nd Birthday

Has Jackie Chan been making an effort to be a better father?

In January, the martial arts legend was rumoured to have reconciled with his estranged daughter Etta Ng, his daughter born out of wedlock to his former mistress, ex-Hong Kong actress Elaine Ng, thanks to her remarks during a livestream.

And now, it seems like he's making amends with his son, Jaycee Chan, 42, too.

The martial arts legend previously acknowledged himself that his relationship with Jaycee — the only child of Jackie and Taiwanese former actress Lin Fengjiao — became strained due to his strict parenting and frequent criticism.

Of course, the rift between father and son worsened after Jaycee’s 2014 drug-related arrest, leading to years of limited contact. Jackie also admitted that he fell short in providing the guidance his son needed.

But it appears father and son have begun to patch things up.

Recently, some netizens spotted Jackie at the Su Dongpo Memorial Site in Huizhou, Guangdong with Jaycee, just before his 72nd birthday.

In the photo, the father and son were seen resting under a tree. Jackie even had his arm around Jaycee's shoulder and was pointing into the distance.

Jaycee also appeared to be listening attentively, and the two were chatting and smiling.

Does that mean things are good between them now?
