Huang Zitao Calls Out Dental Clinic For Allegedly Sharing Treatment Photos Without Consent
The former EXO member criticised a clinic after staff reportedly photographed him during a procedure and used the images for promotion.
Chinese singer and former K-pop idol Huang Zitao has publicly called out a dental clinic after staff allegedly photographed him during a procedure and used the images for promotion without his consent.
The controversy erupted after a clinic employee shared a photo of the former EXO member receiving treatment in a dental chair on WeChat Moments, alongside details of his dental work.
The post thanked Zitao for his trust and revealed that he had previously gotten 16 veneers before returning for additional inlay treatment.
Fuming over the privacy breach, the 33-year-old took to Weibo last week to call out the clinic.
Zitao explained that he had returned out of loyalty to a late dentist, Dr Wu, who had treated him in the past.
"If it weren't for Dr Wu, who treated me when he was alive, I wouldn't have come back," Zitao wrote, adding that he returned to the clinic out of nostalgia and trust.
Instead, he found himself being used as promotional material.
"Who I am or what I do is not important," he wrote. "What's important is that you secretly took photos of me and spread them around without my permission."
He went on to slam the staff for having “no basic manners" and told them to "have some shame when doing business."
The incident sparked debate online, with many netizens siding with the star and questioning the clinic's professionalism.
"Who would dare visit a clinic that secretly photographs patients and posts it online?" one commenter wrote, while another said: "This isn't just rude — isn't it illegal?"
