Lip Readers Claim To Know What Li Bingbing Said To Huang Xiaoming When His Ex-Wife Angelababy Was On Stage During Weibo Awards; This Is What They Came Up With
Fans were equally curious about what Angelababy and Yang Mi were chatting about when Xiaoming was making a speech on stage.
China’s biggest stars were gathered in Shanghai for the annual Weibo Awards last Saturday (March 25).
A whopping 35 awards were presented that night, with Hu Ge and Liu Yifei taking home the night’s top honours as Weibo King and Queen respectively.
However, what got netizens talking wasn’t the winners, but the seemingly intriguing conversations of former couple Huang Xiaoming, 45, and Angelababy, 34, with their respective pals and seat buddies, Li Bingbing and Yang Mi.
Xiaoming and Angelababy split up in January 2022 after six years of marriage, and the Weibo Awards marked the first time they are at a public event together since their divorce.
When Angelababy was making her way up on stage to accept the Quality Actor Award alongside actresses Liu Shishi, Yang Mi, and Tong Liya, the camera cut to Xiaoming who was seated in the audience next to Li Bingbing. The actor was seen applauding with an awkward smile on his face.
Instead of the winners, the cameras were focused on Xiaoming and Bingbing again and the latter was caught on camera saying a few words to the actor.
Netizens were convinced they were talking about Angelababy, and this sparked a discussion online.
Self-professed lip-readers immediately got to work trying to figure out exactly what Bingbing said.
Among the speculations was: "Who do you think looks better, me or her?"
Interestingly, when Xiaoming was giving a speech on stage, producers decided to do the same and cut to Angelababy in the audience.
And as luck would have it, she whispered something to pal Yang Mi, eliciting a shocked reaction from the latter.
Netizens took delight in the unscripted moment, with some joking the Weibo Awards had turned into a night of lip-reading.
No guesses on what they were talking about this time.
