Taiwanese Songwriter Huang Kuolun, 59, Lost 13kg After Eating Only 1 Meal A Day During Shanghai Lockdown

The couple has since taken to social media to give their followers an update about how they are handling being in isolation.

“Shanghai has been in lockdown for three days… thank the Lord ~ amidst everything that’s going on we are still able to work, have things to busy ourselves with, have each other’s company, we have countless things to be thankful for!” wrote Nancy on Facebook, seemingly positive about the lockdown.

When a follower commented on her post saying that Kuolun looked skinnier than before, Nancy replied “He is! He lost 13kg!”

During a press conference held by the Taiwan Affairs Office on April 13, the press brought up the topic of Taiwanese celebrities, who are stuck in the Shanghai lockdown, revealing that they only can have “one meal a day”. They questioned if the Taiwan authorities could do anything to help the situation.

An official then replied saying that a Shanghai counterpart did call to talk about the situation and revealed that they have checked on those celebrities to find it out if there was a problem.

According to the Shanghai official, those celebrities assured them that they are doing fine and have “no issues with living and eating.”

Kuolun has also poked fun at his own weight loss, joking that “everyone thinks he’s starving.”

He explained that he intentionally curbed his appetite and ate only one meal a day to lose weight. It just happened to coincide with the lockdown, which made him learn to appreciate food even more.
