53-Year-Old Hsiao Chiang, Once Called “Taiwan’s Most Beautiful Woman”, Reveals Why She Doesn’t Want To Get Married
It’s not because of a lack of suitors.
Before there was Lin Chiling, actress Stephanie Hsiao Chiang, 53, was known as “Taiwan’s Most Beautiful Woman”.
Hsiao Chiang, who is best known for her role as Lin Shiyin in 1999’s Legend of Dagger Li, has remained steadfastly single over the years and is widely regarded as one of Taiwan’s most eligible bachelorettes.
The actress got fans all excited recently when she revealed in an interview that she is currently dating someone. However, she has no desire to get married.
"I think about the person I used to like. He is now married and has kids and I wonder if this is what I want?", she shared candidly.
According to Hsiao Chiang, she is healthy and has everything she wants in life, especially freedom.
She leads a very zen life
Life for Hsiao Chiang now is simple but fulfilling. She starts her day by hand copying Buddhist scriptures for two hours, a habit she started when her mum fell ill.
Although her mother passed away seven years ago, Hsiao Chiang continues to copy sutras daily as she misses her mum.
In addition to copying scriptures, Hsiao Chiang also takes calligraphy classes. She has written scriptures in calligraphy and one of her books is displayed in Kaicheng monastery in Yilan as part of their collection.
She's mad about yoga too
Another hobby that she’s passionate about is yoga.
Hsiao Chiang shared that she became a certified instructor last year and even conducted an impromptu class for her friends when they visited a hot spring during Chinese New Year.
