How The Stars Have Reacted To The Hong Huifang & Pan Lingling Feud

Rumour has it that the 25-year-old actress is dating Hong Huifang’s 18-year-old son Calvert Tay and that it was Pan Lingling’s gossipy comments about their relationship that ended the friendship between the veteran actresses. Julie has shown support for Huifang on social media ever since trouble first started brewing a month ago. When Huifang posted that scathing IG post on June 27 about dealing with a hypocrite, Julie left a comment saying: “Yes, because time will prove everything.” On the day the scandal broke on the Internet, Julie also posted this message on IG Stories where she mentions how she has "lost all respect" for a senior.

After the Huifang-Lingling feud went viral, Julie posted lyrics to Taylor Swift’s ‘Look What You Made Me Do’, which is a song the pop star wrote in response to her haters.

Huifang’s son, Calvert, has also unleashed his anger on social media. The NS boy and budding actor posted on IG Story this retro photo of his family with the caption: “I don’t care who you are, I don’t care what you do, you can hurt me, but don’t ever hurt my family and the people I love, I will not tolerate it!”

Huifang’s daughter posted the same photo as her brother but instead of IG Stories, she uploaded the pic on her Instagram. “No one hurts my family. No one,” she wrote. She has since deleted the post.

Shane has showed his support for his pal Julie by reposting her IG story and writing in Chinese that the person who has been spreading rumours to ruin someone else's reputation will end up destroying her own credibility. Kimberly, on the other hand, had left a message on one of Huifang’s posts saying, “Auntie Huifang, I really respect you.”

The actor told Chinese paper Zaobao that Pan Lingling had patronised his porridge shop a few days ago but “she didn’t say a thing”. He also added that he didn’t sense anything was amiss between the two actresses either and that he respects both of them a lot. "[Lingling] is someone who can be cold on the outside but hot on the inside. She’s the passionate sort who would help you to the very end. Huifang-jie is someone who is passionate, loyal and cares for her juniors," he also said.

Lingling’s hubby told Zaobao that he believes that the rift between the two actresses was caused by a misunderstanding. He also said that he has advised Lingling that if she had said something out of line, she should apologise. “She’s unwilling to tell me the details, and so I don’t ask more. They are long-time colleagues and so I hope whatever misunderstanding would be settled quickly. I know that Huifang is a very understanding person”. He also added that Lingling is very bothered by the news. “But she doesn’t want to talk about it. She is unwell and is still on medication and I’m very worried that this incident will affect her mood even more,” he said about Lingling who successfully battle breast cancer in 2014. He then questioned the intentions of the whistleblower. “Who is the person who leaked the news to the press? This person just wants to see the world burn. This incident has hurt both parties badly. What the person did is despicable.”

When told about the rift, the Korean actress expressed disbelief. “They are both good and very understanding people, such a pity!” she sighed. She also added that she hopes Lingling and Huifang can “sit down for a good talk and make up.”

The actor, who became close to Huifang after playing her son in Ch 8 drama Gifted together, left a comment on Huifang’s post saying “Mummy, I’m by your side!” To which Huifang replied, “Love you, my dear son!”

The Ch 8 host has also been a vocal supporter of Huifang on social media. On both of Huifang’s cryptic Instagram posts, Yifeng left messages saying that she “raises all [her] limbs in full support” and that she “agrees wholeheartedly” with Huifang.
