Housewife Turns Spam Caller’s Number Into S$1.8mil Lottery Win

Leave it unanswered — that’s what the majority of us would do when receiving a call from an unknown number. Spam calls are annoying, and you would most likely be talking to a scammer. 

For one housewife in Ipoh, a spam call led to an unexpected windfall. And she has herself to thank for that.

According to Malaysian media, the housewife received a call from an unknown number, which she ignored. But when checking her missed calls, one spam number — containing the digits ‘4526’ and ‘3106’ — caught her eye.

She had a gut feeling the digits had ‘combination potential.’

She later entered the digits in the Da Ma Cai 1+3D lottery (similar to our 4D), placing a 2 ringgit bet. As luck would have it, the numbers were drawn on September 10 — winning her the 6.08mil ringgit (S$1.8mil) jackpot.

Her win was also officially confirmed by Da Ma Cai on social media.

In an interview, the woman admitted she never imagined a spam caller’s number would lead her to such a huge windfall.

Though still in disbelief, she has already donated part of her winnings to several charities, earning praise for her generosity and kindness.
