Hongkong Star Karena Ng Says She’s Not A Gold Digger Even Though She's Only Been Linked To Rich Men

Accusations of Hongkong actress Karena Ng, 26, being a gold-digger started when she was dating Raymond Lam. Raymond's dad, Lam Kwok Ah, is a real estate tycoon who is often referred to as the Li Ka-shing of Xiamen.

When Karena and Raymond were an item, there were rumours that his parents had disapproved of their relationship, as they felt that Karena was taking advantage of Raymond. It didn't help that the media often reported about Raymond splurging on Karena, like how he is believed to have paid for her parents' rent, which worked up to about HK$170K (S$30K) a month.

To make things worse, at least for Karena's reputation, when she and Raymond broke up in 2018 after five years together, the tabloids were rife with rumours that she had left him for an even richer man, Brian Shi (more on him later).
