Hongkong Actress Yu Mo Lin, 83, Tells Friends "See You In Our Next Lives" While In The ICU With Rare Blood Cancer

Veteran Hongkong actress Yu Mo Lin, 83, who is said to be severely ill with a rare type of blood cancer, has been warded in the ICU. According to reports, the actress is prepared for the worst ever since her health deteriorated in recent months.
Mo Lin's health has worsened despite her best efforts to seek treatment
Mo Lin went to the hospital in August because of a persistent cough. She was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis, a lung condition, and was warded for eight days. Earlier this month, the actress ended up in hospital again. When Hongkong reporters tried to contact her, a nurse picked up the phone and shared that she was unable to talk as she is currently intubated. The nurse would only reveal that the condition of her organs, including her lungs, have not deteriorated.
Mo Lin is well aware of the worst-case scenario
A source close to Mo Lin has since told the media that the actress is suffering from a rare blood cancer. She was intending on starting treatment before she was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and so her doctor has advised her to hold that off until she recovers.
Her actress pal Meg Lam shared that Mo Lin sent her, along with other friends, a voice message recently, saying that they “should meet if [she's] able to wake up." She also said that if she doesn't recover, she would "see [them] in their [next] lives."
Meg added that the Mo Lin sounded "calm" even though she's aware that there's a possibility she would not recover.
Mo Lin started acting in TVB dramas in 1979 but became famous for playing unattractive characters in Stephen Chow's movies. She has mentioned in previous interviews that she “doesn’t mind being labeled as Hongkong’s ugliest actress” as long as the audience enjoys her work and remember her as an actress dedicated to her craft.
