Questions were raised recently when Hongkong actor Carlos Chan (also known as Chan Ka Lok) had to take urgent leave from the set of his new movie, Ready Or Knot. When the media caught up with the 33-year-old to find out what happened, he admitted that it was a health scare that forced him to take a break.

“My stomach hurt very badly all of a sudden the other night," revealed Carlos. "There was also blood in my urine [when I went to the bathroom] in the wee hours of the night. I didn’t know what to do and planned to go to bed before heading to the hospital in the morning.”

Alas, the pain in his abdomen intensified so much that he had no choice but to go to the emergency department at the nearest hospital. “The people who were there before me let me go first when they saw how much pain I was in.” An examination revealed that he had three kidney stones, of which one had gotten stuck in his ureter.
