Consider this the start of Star Awards season. The Creative Achievement Awards was held yesterday (April 5) to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of the creative staff in the past year. Four awards were given out during the 45-minute ceremony, which was attended by Mediacorp's stable of directors, scriptwriters, producers and other production crew, the family members of the nominees, as well as a bevy of Mediacorp stars.

Martin Chan - Best Director award for When Duty Calls
Seah Choon Guan and Chan Yoke Yeng - Best Screenplay award for Mightiest Mother-in-Law
Teo Kim Kee - Best Variety Research Writer award for Going Miles, Spreading Smiles
Lian Mei Qin - Best Variety Producer award for the Star Awards 2017
