Korea's ‘Most Beautiful Transgender’ Star, 49, Undergoes Makeover, Now Looks Like Any Other Influencer
You know that look.
Former K-pop idol and model Harisu, who gained fame as South Korea’s most beautiful transgender star in the early 2000s, is once again making waves for her looks, but not in a good way.
Last month, Harisu, whose real name is Lee Kyung Eun, took to Instagram to post a selfie, inviting Taiwan fans to game with her.
In the pic, the 49-year-old wore a pink top and had her hair in two ponytails, giving her a youthful look.
But what caught the attention of netizens was how drastically different she looks.
Now sporting pouty lips, large doe eyes and an unnaturally pointy chin, Harisu's looks are a stark contrast to her once sultry, glamorous image.
Some felt Harisu overdid it with the plastic surgeries and now she looks just like any other influencer.
Harisu, who had gender affirming surgery when she was 22, was talent scouted in 1999 while working as a nightclub singer and began her career as a model.
She got her big break in 2001 when she appeared in a TV ad for a cosmetics brand.
Her stunning looks captured the attention of viewers and her popularity skyrocketed when it was revealed that she was a transgender.
Harisu debuted as a K-pop idol the same year and went on to release five techno and R&B albums.
She has also acted in a number of films and dramas, including Taiwanese series Hi! Honey alongside Pace Wu, and Hong Kong erotic film Colour Blossoms, both in 2004.
In 2007, Harisu married rapper Micky Jung, who is four years younger than her. The couple divorced 10 years later.
