In the world of Chinese reality show You Are So Beautiful, being a well-educated female doctor does not seem to mean anything if you “don’t wear lipstick, have large pores, and don’t wear high heels”.
That probably wouldn’t have stirred up much of an uproar in a less progressive decade, but the show started airing in December last year — and netizens have not taken kindly to its outdated views of women.
