Hannah Quinlivan’s Granddad, 90, Wins Gold Medal In Javelin Throw At World Masters Games 2025

Remember when Hannah Quinlivan’s grandfather, Laurence Quinlivan wowed everyone by sprinting his way to victory at an athletics meet last year?

Well, the 90-year-old has definitely set his sights higher this year when he signed up for the World Master Games 2025.

He has already bagged his first gold medal in the Men’s 90+ javelin throw with a winning distance of 9.71 metres.

But did we expect anything less from someone who was a shot put champ back in his high school days in Australia?

Happening from May 17 to 30 in Taipei, the World Masters Games is open to anyone aged 30 and above, with the oldest participant at an impressive 105 years old.

Laurence isn’t stopping at javelin and has also signed up for 100m and 200m sprints, discus throw, and shot put.

It seems that sporting excellence runs in the family.

His seven-year-old grandson, Romeo Chou, seven, is already showing promise as a talented tennis player.

Hands up if you are now feeling guilty over skipping yesterday’s workout.
