Grace Chan Judged For Wearing Sports Bra And Leggings To Go Mountain Hiking
What were they expecting her to wear on a hike though?
Actress Grace Chan, 32, spent most of her childhood in Canada. She moved back to Hong Kong in 2013 after being crowned Miss Hong Kong that year.
Despite having been in Hong Kong for a decade already, the now Mrs Kevin Cheng has yet to experience one of Hong Kong's favourite pasttimes — mountain hiking.
She finally did it this month and took IG to celebrate the milestone, posting a series of photos, which showed her wearing a sports bra, leggings, and a cap. Basically, your typical workout 'fit.
A clip also showed her perched atop a hiking post, enjoying the view she worked hard to catch.
However, rather than get good vibes from the wholesome post, a handful of netizens took issue with the way Grace was dressed, with some saying she had “too little on”.
Others also felt she was “setting a bad example”.
“She’s standing so high up, it’s so dangerous,” wrote one netizen, while another said: “Perhaps, next time you could go hiking in a safer area. There are so many places with nature you could visit, why must you go [hiking] in the mountains?”
One particularly harsh comment read: “You’re a mum of three yet you’re corrupting the young ones by setting such a bad example. You’re really putting yourself in danger. [I’m] worried for you.”
Another netizen also left an unsolicited opinion on Grace’s outfit, saying: “I’m always shocked by how people in Hong Kong dress when they’re hiking. In Canada, we’re dressed in clothes that protect us from cuts, scratches, insect bites, and other injuries.”
Tell us we’re not the only ones who think these netizens are being overdramatic?
