Gong Yoo's Rome Outing With Male Companion Fuels Speculation About His Sexuality

Korean actor Gong Yoo’s recent trip to Italy got the internet talking — for an unexpected reason.

A fan spotted the Goblin star near the Spanish Steps in Rome walking with a male companion and what stood out was how close the two appeared.

Gong Yoo, 46, had his arm draped over the man’s shoulder as they walked, sparking speculation among netizens about his sexuality.

Some felt the gesture seemed “unusually intimate”, with one commenting that such behaviour is more common among younger friends than men in their 40s.

“Putting your arm around someone’s shoulder is a small thing, but he kept it there the whole way...” said another.

Others also scrutinised the companion, with a few suggesting his mannerisms appeared “effeminate”.

Um, okay.

Still, not everyone is convinced. Several fans pointed out that the man is likely Gong Yoo’s assistant, who is reportedly married, and that the interaction may have been taken out of context.

Known for keeping his personal life low-key, the actor has rarely spoken about his relationships.

He has previously been linked to co-stars, including Lim Soo Jung, Yoon Eun Hye, Kim Go Eun, and Jung Yu Mi, but has never confirmed any of the rumours.
