Gong Li Accused Of Insulting China After She Wore Adidas For A Vogue China Shoot

Though the Adidas logo was not seen in any of the photos, the credits, however, revealed that the white top she wore is from the brand.

Moreover, Gong Li is said to have picked all the outfits for the photoshoot herself.

According to a source, Gong Li has final say over what she wears for her shoots, and so it's “impossible” she didn't know that it was an Adidas top.

Chinese netizens have since taken to Weibo to call out Vogue China for supporting Adidas. They then attacked the actress for “insulting China” and “picking a brand that has smeared China’s name on purpose”.

They’ve also called for Chinese brands to boycott Gong Li, at the same time demanding that she “go back to Singapore and stop trying to earn Chinese money”.

Gong Li was married to Singaporean businessman Ooi Hoe Seong from 1996 to 2008, and became a Singapore citizen the year she was divorced.
