Gillian Chung Fat-Shamed By Netizens After Variety Show Trailer Appearance; Her Fans Defend Her With Body Positive Comments

The latest trailer for Chinese variety show Twinkle Love was posted on Wednesday (Apr 28) and featured Hongkong singer-actress Gillian Chung opening up about her first love, but that certainly wasn’t what got people buzzing.

In the clip, the 40-year-old, who divorced Taiwanese doctor Michael Lai in March 2020 after less than two years of marriage, shared that she had a relationship with a Japanese boy, but it ended after he returned to Japan. She also said her advice to her 20-year-old self would be “to be a good person”.

However, most comments and reports seem to be fixated on her appearance, with many cruelly pointing out Gillian's weight gain.
