Hongkong star Gillian Chung, 39, and Taiwanese-American cosmetologist Michael Lai, 31, have called it quits after less than two years of marriage.

Michael revealed that he and Gillian have split in an interview today (May 8) and that they signed the divorce papers on March 1. He said he was devastated as Gillian was the one who initiated the divorce and that she had told him that she no longer loves him. Michael went on to claim that Gillian had contemplated getting a divorce shortly after their wedding, as she felt that they didn’t know each other well enough.

According to reports, the pair got married just two month after they first got acquainted.

This time, Level 2 had noticeably more people around, from teenagers and tourists to older shoppers. More importantly, shoppers were actually interacting with the stalls, trying things on and making purchases, rather than simply browsing and walking through. There are still plenty of shuttered units, and Level 2 remains much quieter than the ever-busy ground floor, but the atmosphere felt noticeably livelier during our visit. Bugis Street is also hosting its “Somewhere @ Bugis Street” weekend events as part of its ongoing efforts to bring more activity to the area.
