Gigi Lai, 49, Pens Touching Message To 64-Year-Old Billionaire Husband On Their 12th Wedding Anniversary
She revealed her secret to having a happy marriage.
Theirs is a love story that many didn’t see coming, yet it's also a tale as old as time.
Gigi Lai, 49, famously quit showbiz in 2008 to take over her brother’s skin care business after the latter was involved in a serious car accident that left him wheelchair-bound. It’s said that around this time, billionaire Patrick Ma, whose family owns Hongkong’s largest media group, the Oriental Press Group, swooped in and swept the beauty off her feet.
Though he's 15 years her senior, his sincerity and kindness towards her family won Gigi over, and in 2009, they got hitched to everyone’s surprise.
12 years later, the couple, who have three daughters, 10-year-old twins Pricia and Gianna, and Pagella, eight, are still as loving as ever.

To celebrate their 12th wedding anniversary on Monday (Jan 18), Gigi posted three images on her IG: Two close-up photos of her and Patrick’s interlocked hands and a video of a bouquet and a handwritten card that her husband had given her.
She also penned a really heartfelt message that she dedicated to Patrick. She wrote: “When you’re a married couple, it’s not possible to have that feeling where your heart beats faster when you’re with each other. From meeting, to getting married, until now, we have gone through many phases."
She continued: "If you were to ask me the secret to getting along [with your other half], I think the most important thing is to be ‘real’. You have to learn and accept the real side of the other person, appreciate his good points, accept each other’s weaknesses, and support one another. When you can be the real you in front of him, that’s when the both of you are at your best when you’re together.... Love isn’t just a fleeting feeling. It requires both parties to work on it with care and attention. A slow and steady love that lasts forever is what I am after."
Gigi then ended her post by looking forward to the future."12 years have flown by like that. I thank you for your protection and for your companionship, which has allowed me to grow in the most carefree way. I believe that our future still has a lot more exciting things that are waiting for us to discover hand-in-hand. Happy Anniversary to you & me.”
