Gary Chaw Filmed Shouting Vulgarities At Other Diners At A Restaurant But The Star Says He “Will Not Apologise”

He was estimated to have spouted at least 27 English swear words — mostly F-bombs — in the span of two minutes.

Gary Chaw Filmed Shouting Vulgarities At Other Diners At A Restaurant But The Star Says He “Will Not Apologise”

Almost nine years ago, Taiwan-based Malaysian singer Gary Chaw swore off alcohol after throwing a drunken fit on stage that almost destroyed his marriage. A damning new video seems to suggest that he has broken that promise, though what the star says he was drinking was… chicken soup. More on that in a bit.

Recently, a Facebook user posted a clip of a man being heard causing a ruckus in a restaurant. The diners did not recognise who it was at first but “found his voice very familiar”. It was later revealed to be Gary, 42, who was said to be intoxicated, though that was not confirmed.

And boy did the star sound furious.

He spewed an estimated 27 English expletives within two minutes (yup, some media outlets counted), saying things like “What the f*** did I do!?”, “What the f*** are you gonna do, b****!?”, and “F*** you, you motherf***ing b****”, among other bleep-worthy threats and insults.

Things were also thrown around at one point, with the poor waitress ducking to avoid being hit. You can watch the video for yourself to see how bad it was:

Although Gary’s manager offered to pay for the other party’s meal as a way to reconcile, they asked for “a public apology on Facebook” instead, so both sides parted on bad terms.

Then, on Wednesday (Mar 9), Gary did an exclusive interview with Mirror Media to tell his side of the story.

He claimed that at that time, he was drinking “chicken soup” with his mentor, Taiwanese composer Michael Tu, when the diners in the room next to them started being disruptive by making a lot of noise.

He asked the restaurant to help resolve the matter, but his ‘neighbours’ didn’t seem to like being told what to do and shouted “F*** you” to Gary, which set him off and sparked their profanity-filled quarrel.

Gary also accused the other party of only providing evidence in their favour and of trying to blackmail him into making an apology, but he firmly declared: “I will not apologise.”

“The police have all the records and videos and they said that this sort of thing happens all the time,” he said.

Gary went on to share that he’s been busy explaining things to his parents and wife, Taiwanese fashion blogger Wu Souling, 42.

“I am also human, and I have emotions,” he said.

We got another update today (Mar 10) as Gary took to Facebook to say that he will maintain his silence and let the police conduct their investigations, and that he is “willing to bear all the consequences”.

It also turns out that he did have some alcohol after all, although it’s not what you might be thinking.

“I thought you’ve quit alcohol? It’s really a shocking news to hear that (sic),” one fan commented, to which Gary responded: “It was chickensoup (sic) with alcohol in it.”
