Francis Ng, 63, Almost Got Kicked Off A Public Bus... For What Might Be The Most Flattering Reason Ever
Usually, when you piss someone off, you wouldn't go online to brag about it.
But for Hong Kong actor Francis Ng, it’s an achievement worth sharing with the world.
The 63-year-old recently shared on social media some snaps of him taking a public bus in Hong Kong.
In the pics, Francis, who appeared barefaced and was wearing a bucket hat, was standing on the side. None of the passengers seemed to have recognised him.
The actor, however, shared that something interesting actually happened during the ride.
“After I tapped my card, the driver got annoyed and almost kicked me off the bus!," he gushed in his caption.
Wait, what? Why?
"I explained that I didn’t mean to, I was born this way. Please look at my ID card," he added.
While he didn't spell out what happened, netizens quickly surmised that Francis had already reached the eligible age for Hong Kong's “HK$2 (S$0.34) Fare Concession Scheme”, and must have used his JoyYou Card when boarding the bus.
The JoyYou card is a personalised concession pass for Hong Kong residents aged 60 or above.
They then deduced that the driver must have thought the actor was "faking it" and asked to see his ID because he looked younger than 60.
As if Francis' ego needed to be inflated more, netizens continued to flatter him in the comments section.
“Blame it on being too handsome and too young-looking," one praised.
Another remarked: “People would believe you’re 40, you’re in great shape."
A netizen, however, questioned why no one gave Francis a seat since, you know, he's technically an elderly.
His reply? “Haven’t I caused enough trouble already?"
It makes sense though. After all, who would offer a seat to someone they thought was only in their 40s?
