Taiwanese-American singer Fei Xiang, 61, was one of the biggest pop icons in the ‘80s, thanks to his good looks and massive hit songs, including ‘Winter Fire’ and ‘She’.

The star, who also goes by the name Kris Phillips, ventured out to Broadway in the ‘90s and even joined the cast of The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, where he performed The Phantom of the Opera.

Since stepping away from the spotlight, Fei Xiang has kept a low profile, save for the occasional updates on Weibo, which he shares to stay connected with his fans.

Fei Xiang having the best time in Italy

A few days ago (Aug 15), Fei Xiang posted a series of pictures on social media, documenting his trip to Italy.

“Whenever summer comes around, I will think of visiting Italy, because the ice cream there is the best in the world!” he wrote.

He also recommended of some of his favourite places in the country: “The hotel I stayed in at Milan is right beside the world renowned cathedral (Duomo di Milano). Right next door is the luxurious shopping gallery (Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II) with 150 years of history… and the famous opera house Teatro alla Scalla is just a stone’s throw away,” wrote Fei Xiang, adding that it's perfect for “night owls”.

Of all the pictures he posted, Fei Xiang only appeared in one. In the pic, he had a thick beard and was dressed all in black, and looked super happy to be basking in the Milan sun.

However, some netizens found it hard to recognise him, with some speculating that he has put on some weight.

Many of his fans though were glad to get an update from their idol, and thanked him for sharing moments from his trip, adding that he's still "as fashionable and handsome as ever".

“Remember to bring me along next time,” wrote a cheeky fan.

Fei Xiang's Weibo post

Just last month, Fei Xiang was accused by netizens of faking his location when his IP address did not match where he said he was at. However, the star calmly explained that he had a team manage his social account, which was why the post was tagged in Shanghai instead of London.
