“Faye Wong” Just Got Hitched To A Martial Artist
Wait, what about Nicholas Tse?

Instead, her other half’s a less-known martial artist named Li Wei Long.

A Faye-ted union?
It all began when Hongkong martial artist Bruce Leung posted a video on Douyin congratulating Wei Long on his marriage.
“Congrats to my disciple Li Wei Long and Wang Fei (aka Faye’s Chinese name) for tying the knot on November 21 2020, what an auspicious day. I’ll like to congratulate Wei Long, wishing the newlyweds a happy marriage,” Bruce said in his video message.
According to reports, Wei Long later reposted the same video, hashtagging both his name, as well as Faye’s Chinese name, Wang Fei.

Erm...
Confused, netizens began leaving comments wondering if the martial artist was really referring to Faye. To add to the confusion, an anonymous report soon popped up, claiming to have the juicy details behind the two’s courtship.
According to said report, Faye and Wei Long had been introduced to each other by Faye’s good friend, Chinese singer Na Ying, and that it was “love at first sight” for them.
Sure...

Still together, don't worry
Soon enough, Hongkong media caught wind of the issue, and contacted Nicholas’s manager, asking if it was indeed true that the 40-year-old’s other half had gotten hitched to someone else.
“So fake, no one will believe this,” was the short and sweet reply from Nicholas’s manager.
And in just seven words, this whole affair came crumbling down right before everyone’s eyes.

Well, um... Congrats on the wedding!
But the rumour mill wasn’t done just yet. Even as some more reasonable netizens mused that Wei Long must’ve tied the knot with someone who happened to have the same Chinese name as Faye, some others went on to speculate that the martial artist must’ve seen an opportunity to get his own name in the media, intentionally posting the misleading video to stir up confusion amongst Faye’s fans.
In any case, this whole thing made for quite an interesting mid-week laugh, no?
