While it was unclear what prompted Elva’s post, fans were quick to speculate that it might have something to do with the 40-year-old’s health. After all, Elva has a history of going on indefinite hiatus due to various health issues.

According to reports, Elva has finished recording all the songs in her upcoming album, Naked Truth, and has released two singles, ‘Celebrate // Everyday’ and ‘In A Heartbeat’ so far. She had plans to release the entire album in June, but as you can guess, COVID-19 ruined everything.

But back to Elva’s post. As neither Elva nor her management have clarified the messages, netizens have been kept guessing on the reasons behind her update, like if she is still together with her boyfriend, 24-year-old budding actor Justin Huang.

“I think they broke up, I don’t think they’re announcing something “big” like marriage,” wrote a netizen. Another netizen even baselessly concluded that the post was indeed about Elva’s relationship, and said: “Breaking up isn’t a “big” thing in life, and a new relationship might just be a good thing”.

Some listed other possibilities as well, such as Elva’s retirement or an unexpected pregnancy.
