With most of the world having to stay indoors to flatten the COVID-19 curve, many have turned to online shopping to get what they need. And in China, this has led to the already very popular live streaming shopping broadcasts to become even more in-demand.
Two of China’s most popular live streamers are Wei Ya and Austin Lee. Wei Ya’s broadcasts are viewed by up to 300 million people at a time, making her one of the most sought-after influencers in the country. She also boasts a record of selling RMB300mil (S$60mil) worth of products in a two-hour broadcast.
