Was it all due to a miscommunication?

At this point we think it's safe to say that being part of the Boys Over Flowers franchise is a sure ticket to stardom.

First we had the Taiwanese F4, who propelled to fame after 2001 drama Meteor Garden, then we had the Korean F4, whose 2009 K-drama Boys Over Flowers was one of the genre's biggest hits.

And now, taking the world by storm is F4 Thailand, who played the four handsome and wealthy bad boys in the Thai version of the Japanese manga series.

The members of F4 Thailand, Bright Vachirawit, Win Metawin, Dew Jirawat and Nani Hirunkit, are now on a tour to meet their fans all over the world.

However, the group came under fire yesterday (Feb 5) after their press conference in Taiwan.

They were apparently an hour late for the press conference.

According to reports, the boys arrived at the press conference an hour later than the stipulated time.

The members were also caught eating biscuits on camera, and had requested for reporters to delete the photos of them snacking.

With regards to the issue, their agency GMM TV issued an official apology in both English and Thai on the same day.

GMM TV's official apology

In the statement, GMM TV explained that the group was tardy because of a flight delay, and that they had informed the press coordinator that they were going to be late "in advance".

On top of that, they claimed that the boys were only snacking "due to a miscommunication among the staff" which gave them the false impression that "the interview and photography sessions had not yet begun."

The agency also admitted that they had requested for images of the group snacking to not be published after being informed of the situation.

However, according to reports, during the photo-taking segment, a reporter actually asked the guys if "[eating while] taking pictures is normal for them" and someone from the team said "it's their habit to chit-chat while taking photos, yes".

Regardless, the agency said that they and "the artists would like to apologise for these incidents which may have caused confusion and frustration among many".

"We will take precautions to prevent a recurrence of these incidents and ensure clear communication in order to avoid misunderstandings in the future," they promised.
