Malaysian actor Evan Siau, 36, passed away earlier this month after a two year battle with cancer.

According to reports, Evan joined showbiz in 2012 after winning the Mr Malaysia International title.

He had acted in Mediacorp productions, including 2013 prison drama Break Free, where he had a scene-stealing role as an effeminate man. The drama starred Tay Ping Hui, Yvonne Lim, Andie Chen and Zhang Zhenhuan.

It was reported that Evan first discovered cancer cells in his intestines and stomach two years ago and started on chemotherapy shortly after. However, he kept the news of his diagnosis quiet.
