Energy’s Toro Admits To Not Getting Along With Bandmate Milk In The Past, Only Resolved Their Differences In Recent Years
The Taiwanese boyband has finally made their long-awaited comeback after 15 years. This time, they have a more mature approach when it comes to settling disagreements.

Since their disbandment in 2009, fans of noughties Taiwanese boyband Energy have been longing for the quintet to make a comeback.
Their wish finally came true last year when it was announced that the group’s OG members, Chang Shuwei, 43, Kunda Hsieh, 42, Edy Hsiao, 41, Milk Yeh, 44, and Toro Kuo, 42, had collectively signed a contract with B’in Music.
Since then, they have dropped a new album Here I Am, and are set to perform at the Taipei Arena for two consecutive nights, on July 27 & 28.
The boys, sorry, men recently sat for an interview with Taiwanese media CT Want, in which they spoke about their long-awaited return, and the changes they have experienced as a group.
Toro also addressed the age-old rumour that he and Milk don't get along.
He admitted that there was conflict between him and Milk due to a lack of communication.
According to Toro, they attempted to resolve their differences some years ago.
“Back then, I was very defensive when I spoke to Milk. He also felt the same way towards me. The phone call went on for very long while, but we were not able to reach a conclusion. It was only in the last two years that we’ve been able to look past our differences and really talk to each other. Turns out, we were in a rush to overcome our issues in the past, but neither of us were ready for it yet,” he said.
Kunda also agreed that the group didn't communicate well with each other 20 years ago. Now, if there were any issues, all five of them would gather for a discussion instead of struggle with disagreements.
Toro aside, the members of Energy have all gotten married. When asked how their other halves feel about their comeback, Kunda said that his wife, actress Alice Ko, is super supportive of him “taking a step back into the spotlight”.
He feels that they’ve been presented with a rare opportunity, as “there hasn’t been a group that made the decision [to return] after being apart for so many years”.
The other guys’ wives are equally supportive of the group’s return.
Milk revealed that his wife had but one condition — he was required to send and pick up their seven-year-old from school. He then joked that he still had to send his kid to school as per normal during the morning of their interview that day.
Edy, on the other hand, said that his wife often visits him and work, and shows her support by bringing everyone food. He said that she’s taken on the role of the group’s “nanny”, and that she’s like “everyone’s wife”.
The other members simply laughed in reply, saying: “That’s something only Edy can say, we don’t dare to say such things ourselves.”
