HK Actor Eddie Kwan’s Daughter, 26, Quit Her Job As A Teacher To Take Part In Miss Hong Kong 2021
She says the pageant is her last chance of getting into showbiz.
Last month, it was revealed to much fanfare that Hongkong actor Eddie Kwan’s 26-year-old daughter Fabienne Kwan is a contestant in the Miss Hong Kong 2021 pageant.
She, along with failed Miss Hong Kong hopeful-turned-TVB-artiste Kirsten Fok were the most talked-about contestants during the auditions (though for vastly different reasons) and many netizens believe that Fabienne is a strong contender for the crown.
The contestants have been whittled down to the final 28 and the ladies will be spending 10 days at a training camp, where the pageant's former winners will be sharing tips on how to ace the competition. We assume they will be talking about more than world peace?

The delegates have also been speaking to the media, and Fabienne, who holds a masters degree in education, shared that she quit her full-time job as an English teacher to focus on the contest. “I think I’m on the older side and I feel that this is my last chance [to enter showbiz]," she added.
When asked if she’s done anything to up her chances of winning the pageant, Fabienne said: “I think it’s important to be true to yourself. My dad has always told me to practice hard (…) I’m also keeping fit so that I'll be in my best condition.”

Fabienne is not the only masters degree holder in the running for the crown. According to Hongkong media, this year's pageant contains some of the most highly educated contestant's in the show's history. Apart from Fabienne, four other delegates have masters degrees from top-ranked universities, and that includes 23-year-old Jo An Ma, who recently graduated with an MBA from the University Of Cambridge.
