Dylan Wang Quits Reality Show After Being Swarmed By Zombie-Like Mob While Filming

If you thought Chinese actress Zhang Yuxi getting mobbed by hordes of fans at the airport was scary, wait till you see the frenzied crowds heartthrob Dylan Wang encountered during a recent shoot.
The 25-year-old actor, who shot to fame after starring in 2022 drama Love Between Fairy and Devil, was filming basketball-themed variety show My Zone at an outdoor court in Guangdong on Aug 14.
When filming ended, screaming fans thronged towards Dylan, quickly surrounding him in an attempt to take photos.
From footage shared by netizens on Weibo, the chaotic scene resembled a zombie flick with people shoving and falling to the ground.
The host was also left stunned and could only stand helpless by the side and watch.
Despite the chaotic situation, Dylan remained calm as his bodyguard and manager escorted him away from the crowd.
After the incident, Dylan’s fans criticised the production team for failing to properly manage the crowd.
When the crowd finally dispersed, a large amount of trash was left behind, which fans voluntarily helped to clean up.
There were also complaints that the ground was slippery with puddles of water, which was a safety hazard.
Dylan’s management team has also expressed its displeasure about the chaotic situation, criticising the production team for their poor management.
It said in a statement on Weibo: “Dylan fully co-operated with the filming in all seriousness and with professionalism. However, the set was chaotic with many safety hazards, resulting in a major recording incident. Despite communicating the issues with the production team several times, they remained unresolved."
To protect Dylan's safety as well as that of the audience, the actor will drop out from the show and suspend all subsequent publicity of the program.
It also requested that the production team issue an apology for not filming according to the original plan.
In response, the production team for My Zone released a statement apologising to Dylan, the audience and fans for the incident, adding that they will "review and carry out relevant work with a more rigorous attitude in the future".
