Taiwanese director Doze Niu, who was convicted of sexually assaulting a female staff member, began serving his four year jail sentence on Tuesday (Nov 30).

At 9.57am, the 55-year-old, who is best known for directing Taiwanese gangster film Monga,  arrived at the Hualien District Prosecutors Office in a black Lexus to report for his sentence. 

Dressed in a white shirt, khaki pants and sunglasses, he greeted the waiting media with a smile and said: "Thank you for your concern and blessings."

Following him were his friends carrying two bags containing clothes, necessities, and snacks like biscuits.
