Hong Kong singer-actor Dominic Ho, 37, was overlooked in public while promoting his new track.
Once known for baring it all on the big screen, Hong Kong singer-actor Dominic Ho Ho Man is now baring something else entirely — the harsh reality of self-promo in 2025.
The 37-year-old, who made headlines for going nude in 2015 Category III film The Gigolo, recently took to the streets to promote his new single… by handing out flyers.
The outcome? No one recognised him. No double takes. No curious stares.
In a video shared on Dominic’s Instagram, he’s seen wearing a headset mic, gamely approaching pedestrians on a busy street.
But people walked past him without so much as a glance, let alone taking a flyer.
The sight of the former viral star being treated like he was invisible was, frankly, a little heartbreaking.
Ironically, while Dominic failed to catch anyone’s attention IRL, the clip went viral online.
Netizens weighed in with suggestions, sympathy, and plenty of humour.
Some suggested he whip out a microphone and sing live to draw a crowd.
Others cheekily referenced his Gigolo days: “Go half-naked to get votes.”
Dominic took the ribbing in stride, replying: “I already unbuttoned the top button on my collar.”
Dominic got his showbiz start in 2008 as a singer in boyband Bro5 before going into acting.
For a while, he was heavily backed by director Wong Jing, and his performance in The Gigolo briefly made him a household name.
But judging by how his latest street promo went, that spotlight may have dimmed significantly.
Earlier this year, Dominic was seen busking at a subway station, sparking chatter about whether he’s really “out of work” and working hard to keep his name out there.
