Chinese Actor Ding Yuxi Nearly Thrown Off Horse When It Suddenly Bolts During Filming
The 15-second ordeal, which was captured on camera, left the star visibly shaken.
Chinese actor Ding Yuxi recently experienced a terrifying near-accident on the set of historical drama When The Flowers Bloom.
The 30-year-old actor, best known for dramas like The Romance of Tiger and Rose and Love Game in Eastern Fantasy, was filming a wedding scene when the horse he was riding suddenly bolted reportedly startled by the sound of gongs.
The harrowing 15-second ordeal, which was captured on camera and later leaked online, shows the horse charging uncontrollably while Yuxi struggles to keep his balance.
At one point, he is seen leaning dangerously far back and shouting “Whoa!” several times in an attempt to stop the horse.
Thanks to his strong riding skills, Yuxi eventually managed to bring the horse under control.
Visibly shaken, he dismounted and walked to the side to compose himself.
Although no injuries were reported, the incident raised concerns about whether the production team had taken adequate safety precautions during filming.
The accident has since sparked wide discussion online, with many netizens praising Yuxi for his composure under pressure.
“Good thing he really knows how to ride — he held on steadily and stopped the horse,” one wrote.
Another said: “His riding skills are truly impressive, and more importantly, he stayed calm in a crisis.”
The incident also brought back memories of a 2005 accident involving Taiwanese star Lin Chiling, who fell from a horse while filming an advertisement in Dalian.
She sustained six broken ribs and was bedridden for 10 days after the fall.
