Some celebrities do share immaculate bonds with their fans. But to go to such lengths for their supporters?

Probably only Dicky Cheung.

Recently, a netizen started a discussion thread on social media asking: “Which idol has helped you through the lowest points in your life?”

That gave another netizen the opportunity to shine a light on the kind acts of the 61-year-old Hong Kong actor.

In the comment, the netizen revealed what Dicky had done for a terminally ill friend before they passed on, saying that his actions had gone far beyond what most people would expect from an idol.

“Dicky Cheung, thankfully, you were there with [my friend] from beginning to end. I never imagined that you would even help carry their coffin and attend the cremation," they wrote.

"It may not have been a ‘low point’ in the conventional sense, but it was certainly one of the most difficult periods of their life.”

The netizen revealed that, after learning about her friend’s illness, Dicky specifically re-recorded more than 10 acappella songs for the fan. She added that the singer had not performed those songs publicly for many years.

"My friend couldn't attend his performances, so he recorded the show for them to watch," she added.

The netizen shared that her friend’s condition deteriorated rapidly, and eventually passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Dicky apparently also introduced a priest to help with the funeral and showed concern for the late fan's family.

"When he returned to the stage and performed 'Good Health', he deliberately pointed his finger toward the sky, saying that he's gifting this song to my friend," she recalled.

"Thinking back, it was a really tough and unbearable period, thank you Dicky Cheung."

In a separate comment, she added that the actor had always been kind, but had chosen to stay low-key.

"When a fan's dad urgently needed a large sum of money for medical expenses and surgery, he immediately stepped in and made a private donation too," she claimed.

The post quickly sparked widespread discussion, with many praising the singer for his outstanding character and for "helping others without seeking anything in return".

"He truly is someone of deep love and compassion," said a netizen.

He seriously has such a kind heart
