HK Singer Dicky Cheung Falls With Rotating Piano From Mid-Air During Concert Rehearsal

From Pink’s aerial stunts to Jolin Tsai’s acrobatics, it seems the stars are trying to outdo one another on their concert tours.

However, one of Hong Kong singer Dicky Cheung’s death-defying acts for his ‘You Are Worth The Wait’ concert happening on Feb 12 in Macau didn’t quite go as planned.

A video of a rehearsal session was circulated online last Thursday (Jan 25) showing the 58-year-old playing a grand piano in mid-air while rotating 360 degrees.

The spectacle turned awry when the piano suddenly fell with Dicky directly below it.

Onlooking crew quickly rushed forward to save Dicky, checking to see if he had sustained any serious injuries.

A day after the video was released, Dicky took to Weibo to assure fans he was alright.

He also shared three pictures of him with his cat with the following caption:

“Please set your mind at ease as I am fine and in good spirits. I added a new member to my family today,” he wrote.

We are not going to lie, the idea of a rotating piano in mid-air sounds exciting, but is it truly necessary?

Netizens echoed the sentiment with many leaving comments after watching the video.

“It is too dangerous! Please consider your safety first even though you want to bring an exciting performance to your fans,” wrote one user.

However, some were intrigued and praised Dicky for his ingenuity.

“It looks so scary but exciting at the same time!” read one of the comments.

According to Hong Kong media reports, Dicky has since decided to cancel the piano segment from the concert saying that it wasn’t because it was too dangerous, but because not all the parts needed for the performance could be obtained.

This is not the first time Dicky’s concerts have gotten people talking.

He once rehearsed a dance routine wearing a skin-coloured body suit that left netizens befuddled.
