Dee Hsu, Kevin Tsai kick off new variety series with Xie Na

Popular ‘Kangxi’ hosts Dee Hsu and Kevin Tsai filmed the first episode of their second variety show Zhen Xiang Ba! Hua Hua Shi Jie on May 30, and the episode stars hit Chinese variety show Happy Camp host Xie Na.Known for her cheeky hosting style on Happy Camp, the 37-year-old is said to have been the first artiste to amass more than 100 million followers over Weibo.Excluding her regular appearance on Happy Camp, the show marks Xie Na’s first variety show appearance since she gave birth to

twin daughters on February 1 this year.

According to staff present on set, the trio had fun working together, and could not stop laughing.

When asked if the new series will be different from the popular and widely known Taiwanese variety-comedy talk show Here Comes KangXi that the duo hosted for 12 years, Kevin let on that “KangXi is on a whole new league of its own”, and “will not be the easiest to beat”.

“I think it’s more important to be happy,” Dee chipped in, “There’s nothing we can do if this show is not as successful as Here Comes KangXi. We need to face up to reality sometimes, and since we already agreed to do the show together, we will definitely host it till the end.”
