Daniel Wu, Who Has A Degree In Architecture, Was A Guest Lecturer At Parsons School of Design Recently

According to reports, students at Parsons were taken aback when they found out that the star was their guest lecturer for the day.

One even commented that this was “the first time they’ve felt like wanting to pay full attention in class”. Perks of having a very attractive and knowledgable movie star lecturer.

In 2017, Daniel put his architecture knowledge to good use when he starred in the Chinese reality show Dream House. In the show, he, along with a number of celeb guests, travelled to various parts of the country to makeover buildings.

He also worked on four projects for the show, including one very impressive library. Dubbed the Mulan Weichang Visitor Center, it is located in Mulan Paddock, Chengde City in China's Hebei Province.

The library, which was built in collaboration with architecture firm HDD and chief architect Zhang Hai’ao, was inspired by a traditional Mongolian yurt, and built from scratch by Daniel and the construction team.

Daniel was involved in the entire process, from sketching, to surveying, carpentry, and assembling.

The following year, the library was nominated for the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA)'s International Prize. The awards is commonly known as the Oscars of architecture.

While the library eventually lost out on the main prize, it did bag another award — the Red Dot Design Award, a German international design prize.

And for good reason too. Just look at how stunning it is.
