Daniel Wu Disses “Dad Shoe” Trend; Calls Them “Clunky Clown Shoes”
He really, really hates them.
If you're not a fan of dad shoes, you know, those clunky, chunky sneakers loved by high-end fashion designers, celebrities and hypebeasts, you're not alone.
Hongkong actor Daniel Wu is simply just not onboard the dinostomper train. In fact, the 44-year-old hates them so much, he has taken to social media to voice out how ugly he really thinks the bulky shoes are.
Yay or nay?
“As an ex-sneaker head, I’ve always felt high end designer brands have never had their finger on the pulse and in fact we now have a sneaker designer Virgil Abloh as head designer of LV to show them what’s up. But what the hell is up with designer sneakers these days? Looks like the designers from Skechers all got fired then got rehired by all the fashion houses. This clunky ass, inelegant clown shoes have to go!” wrote Daniel three days ago (Jan 6).
And his opinion has divided the internet.

His pal Hongkong actor Shawn Yue commented with three laughing with tears emojis, while former F4 member Vanness Wu simply wrote: "denied", which is the millennial way of saying 'rejected'.
His followers also picked sides. “Finally someone said it. I thought my taste in sneakers is going out of date!” said one follower on Team Daniel.
While those who disagreed with Daniel thought that the shoes are “cute”. “These are actually kinda nice, come on…” wrote one such person.
