“A Reunion Of Idols From The 2000s”: Cyndi Wang Meets Up With Wilber Pan And Kenji Wu
Cyndi also dispensed some advice to Kenji and Wilber, who are contestants in Call Me By Fire's second season, on how to survive the competition.
Taiwanese singer-actress Cyndi Wang, 39, who recently emerged as the winner of the third season of Chinese competition reality show Sisters Who Make Waves 3, has seen her popularity skyrocket following the conclusion of the show.
A few days ago, the star posted a picture of a recent dinner date she had with fellow noughties idols, Taiwanese singer Kenji Wu, 42, and Wilber Pan, 42.
Cyndi and Kenji released the duet 'NANANA' in 2014, and often made guest appearances in each other’s concerts. Wilber and Cyndi are longtime friends, and have guested in each other’s concerts too.
In her caption, Cyndi wrote: “Thanks Kenji for the dinner treat, [and] Wilber who I have not seen in so long. A happy dinner gathering between friends”.
Wilber also left a comment on Cyndi’s post, revealing that it’s been four years since they last met.
Netizens were very pleased to see Cyndi's with Kenji and Wilber, with one even calling it: “A reunion of idols from the 2000s!”.
Kenji made his showbiz debut in 2000, while Wilber released his first album in 2002. Cyndi got her start in showbiz in 2003.
Apart from writing about their dinner together, Cyndi also took the opportunity to promote Kenji and Wilber, who are both competing in the second season of Chinese talent show Call Me By Fire, by adding the hashtag for the show in her caption on Weibo.
Call Me By Fire is essentially the male-counterpart to Sisters Who Make Waves.
She also offered up some advice for Kenji, joking that he “should not become the leader [if he] doesn’t want to be too tired”. Cyndi was the leader of her own team during her time on Sisters Who Make Waves.
Kenji replied to Cyndi’s comment on Weibo, writing: “I'll accept [this] team leader’s suggestion with an open mind. If I encounter any hardships, I’ll return again to consult team leader [Cyndi]”.
